Church prepares for journey
Members of Ben Rhydding Methodist church have been sharing ideas and talents to prepare a journey through the days leading up to Easter Day.
During Holy Week beginning on Monday the church will be open from 1.30pm to 4.30pm each day and visitors will be able to view a series of scenes set up in the church that will illustrate aspects of Jesus’ last days using words, paintings, symbols and images. “
A lot of thought has gone into the project” says the minister, the Rev. Vicky Atkins, “"and we invite people to come into the church and reflect upon what there is to see”.
Organist Sought !
Ilkley Baptist Church have had some great Organists over the years. The late Jim Bray (pictured left) played at the church for 46 years. He was succeeded by Pam Molyneux, who also tickled the ivories well, until she moved away from the area in 2016.
We are looking for a capable Organist who would be interested in playing at our Sunday Morning Services, and who may be available for the occasional wedding and funeral.
If anyone is interested, please could they contact the Minister, David Callander, on 01943 609826, and we can arrange for you to come down and try out the organ in private.
